Description
Sunflower
This naive sunflower celebrates summer and optimism. It is a splash of yellow brought to life with a mottled brilliant blue and black to contain it. I exhibited it at a local gallery and had many comments, mostly favourable, but one I remember fondly. ‘A kid could have painted that’. I’m sure I can take something positive away from that. It is naive looking!
It’s a painting that would sit well in any kitchen or breakfast room. I’m sure it will inspire budding young painters. Sunflower was painted during a three month stay in hospital during the late summer and autumn of 2013.
